Job Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Medical Coder to assign the appropriate codes to healthcare services and procedures. You will work closely with healthcare providers to ensure coding accuracy for insurance claims and compliance. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and familiar with medical coding guidelines and standards.

Responsibilities

• Account for coding and abstracting of patient encounters. Research and analyze data needs for reimbursement.
• Make sure that codes are sequenced according to government and insurance regulations. Ensure all medical records are filed and processed correctly.
• Analyze medical records and identify documentation deficiencies. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert to other coding staff.
• Review and verify documentation for diagnoses, procedures and treatment results. Identify diagnostic and procedural information.
   

Job Qualifications and Skill Sets

The ideal candidate should have:

• A certified Professional Coder (CPC) is preferred.
• Proven work experience as a medical coder or similar role
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology; understanding of ICD 10 CM and CPT guidelines
• Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records (eCW)
• Positive attitude, detail and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability. Flexible with the tasks that will be assigned, especially on the client's needs.
  •Fast learner & highly trainable with good analytical skills, a team player and able to work with less supervision
  •Must be willing to work graveyard shifts, weekends and holidays. Willing to start immediately.
